About
Rachel E. Bank is an artist and educator living and working in Los Angeles, California. Her multimedia art practice includes photography, video, animation, and installation to achieve works that play with visual and auditory perception and the unfolding of time.
Bank’s recent solo exhibition, Light Waves, was shown in early 2020, at Mt. San Jacinto College Art Gallery in San Jacinto, California. The installation was reconfigured for inclusion in the 2021 group show, Presence Requested, at Irenic Projects, Pasadena, CA. Previous solo shows were held at the Phyllis Gill Gallery at UC Riverside, Riverside, California, and a two-person show was mounted at Midway Airport’s public art space in Chicago, Illinois. Her work has been included in various group shows within the Los Angeles area and beyond including Dread Lounge, Los Angeles; Eastside International, Los Angeles; Cerritos College, Norwalk, CA; New Wight Gallery, UCLA; The Pacific Design Center, West Hollywood, CA; Sweeney Art Gallery, and Riverside Art Museum, both in Riverside, CA. Her work is held in Columbia College Chicago’s collection. Bank received her MFA in Visual Arts from the University of California Riverside in 2013 and her BFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, in 2004.
